Tasty, But No Real Coconut Oct 04, 2010

Lately the Mars company has been trying out a lot of different varieties of M&M's. One of them is the "limited" Coconut M&M's. The candies are green, white, and brown M&M's with a dash of coconut flavor. I could taste the coconut flavor, but after reading the back of the package I discovered there is no real coconut in the candy. Instead that slight coconut taste comes from artificial flavors. I wish the company would use real coconut, but I liked the coconut M&M's nevertheless.

These are my favorite M&Ms ever, and every time I share a bag with friends they can't believe how much they like them, even if they consider themselves to not be big fans of coconut. Hope these come back again now and then, at least as a limited edition.

I was so excited when I saw this product, found it at a gas station. When I chewed my first pieces, I thought, Where is the coconut? I grabbed the packaging and read throught and notice there is no real coconut in it. I was expecting some ultra tiny bits of coconut and all there was is a weak weak off coconut flavor. Unlike M&M's other products that contain real penuts and real almonds (in their almond brand) this is not like that at all. Regular M&M's or Peanut is a much better taste. This is novality item and I would not eat another pack even if it was a freebee, the taste just isn't there! M&M's take a tip from Mounds and Almond Joy and put REAL coconut in your product.

I purchased one 24 pack of 1.5 oz bags of these candies at a flea market. Tasty little M&M candies. Will keep me company at work. I don't know what the regular price of these is but I bought a 24 pack of 1.5oz bags for $4, So the price here seems pretty high to me.
